How it works
The server does the work, the laptop connects
The horsepower lives on the server. The developer's computer only runs PromptOps, or not even that: a phone is enough.
A server ready for your projects
We set up one or more machines with your company repositories, runtimes, test databases and agent CLIs (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini…) with company keys.
Access from anywhere
Developers connect from PromptOps desktop or the mobile app, from the office, from home or from the client's site. Code is never copied to the laptop.
Sessions always on
Agents keep working with the laptop closed or the connection dropped. When you reconnect, terminals, sessions and results are right where you left them.
Lightweight machines are enough
Builds, tests and agents use the server's CPU and RAM, not the laptop's. A lightweight laptop, a thin client or a tablet will do.

Entra ID as SaaS or straight on-prem
Same cloud workstation, two ways to host it. Choose based on where your code and data must live.
SaaS with Microsoft Entra ID
We host the server on the PromptOps EU cloud, dedicated to your organization. Only users from your Entra ID tenant get in, with SSO enforced and users managed with SCIM.
On-prem or in your cloud
The server runs in your data center or in your AWS, Azure or GCP account, with the compiled, encrypted Self-hosted build. Sign-in is still Entra ID, the network stays yours.
Projects with client companies
One server per client or per project, with separate access: consultants and partners work on the client's code without bringing it onto their own computers.
Centralized policies and audit log
Allowed providers and models, approval policies, skills and MCP servers set by IT. Every agent action lands in the activity log, exportable to your SIEM.
IT control
Governed by your IT team
IT sets the rules once, the app enforces them on every machine, and every action leaves a trail.
Agent policies
Allowed AI providers, sub-agent spawning, provider switching, auto-approval and plugin installs decided for the whole organization and enforced by the app after sign-in.
Deploy with Intune / MDM
The desktop app reads an IT-managed configuration (Windows policy, macOS profiles, system files): your backend address, HTTPS only, Microsoft sign-in only.
Events to your SIEM and Teams
Organization events are sent to your SIEM (e.g. Microsoft Sentinel) through a signed webhook and to a Microsoft Teams channel.
Exportable activity log
Every admin and member action is logged, visible in the console and exportable as CSV or JSON for audit and retention.

Frequently asked questions
Where does our code live?
On the cloud workstation server: on the PromptOps EU cloud, dedicated to you (SaaS), or on your own infrastructure (on-prem). It isn't copied to developers' computers, and prompts only go to the AI providers you choose.
What computers do developers need?
Anything that runs PromptOps desktop, even a lightweight laptop or a thin client. Builds, tests and agents use the server resources. To follow and steer agents, the mobile app is enough.
Can we use it for projects with client companies?
Yes. You can have one server per client or per project, with separate access: whoever works on the project signs in with Entra ID and the client's code stays on the server.
Can we start as SaaS and move on-prem?
Yes. The server and organization configuration carries over to your infrastructure with the Self-hosted build.
